My current training vehicle is the new Vauxhall Corsa 1.3 CDTi diesel with manual transmission, which recently won the Whatcar Car of the Year 2007 award. It is fitted with He-Man dual controls and has air conditioning for the warmer summer months. The door mirrors are electrical operated, which provides easier adjustment to suit different pupils, and both the steering wheel and front drivers seat are manually adjustable in height and reach to suit all types of pupil sizes. I find this car is an ideal size for learner drivers, with good all round vision, a sympathetic clutch, excellent gear selection, and also good driving performance.
